Summer Reception
River Club
August 17, 2006

On 17 August, members and guests of the Society gathered at the secluded River Club for a summer cocktail reception which was also the first formal event hosted by recently inducted President John Shannon. The club, with attractive premises overlooking the East River, is a quiet and secluded venue for a friendly and relaxed gathering of old friends and new. In his remarks, President Shannon thanked the host of the event, Mrs. Henry Darlington, Jr., for graciously sponsoring the reception; announced the upcoming events for the Fall season, and declared that he had established a personal goal to begin production of a lineage book covering all those members who were admitted after 1980, when the last volume was produced.
